Kate Ellis

Hi, I’m Kate—dog lover (that’s Gzi Gzi), music enthusiast (especially live shows), earring collector, stairwell singer and devourer of good books. I hate cooking but absolutely love eating, and for reasons science can’t explain, am obsessed with cooking shows.

I’m curly, curvy, calm in a crisis, neuro-sparkly, fuelled by laughter, and a proud social justice advocate who believes the world is better with good vibes, great friends, a fab soundtrack and of course, LOVE!

Growing up, I came to appreciate the essential role that rituals and ceremony play in our lives, and how very important it is that they are done well.

Whether it’s weddings, baby showers, funerals or pet memorials, I curate experiences that honour the love stories and reflect the people involved, allowing all those gathered to share in the moment.

A good ceremony is a bit like good theatre - memorable and satisfying. My care and creativity make it a simple and heartfelt process to design and execute.

I studied Drama and Psychology at university and have worked extensively within the field of human services to support women and families. I’m a qualified Justice of the Peace, and registered as a Marriage Celebrant in November 2014. Since then I have conducted an array of weddings and other ceremonies all over Australia.
